Canberra Gold Award


The Chief Minister's Canberra Gold Award recognises the unique contribution made by individuals and groups who have chosen to make a long-term commitment to the ACT. Through this award, the ACT Government celebrates this dedication by honouring individuals and groups who have resided or operated in the ACT for fifty years or more.

Chief Minister's Canberra Gold Awards are distributed each year as part of Canberra's birthday celebrations. Individual award recipients will receive a pin and a certificate and group award recipients receive a certificate.

Nominations

If you would like to nominate a person, group, or yourself submit a nomination online now.

Nominations for the 2024 awards have closed. The next recipients will be announced in March 2025.

Criteria - Individual

The award is open to individuals who have lived in the ACT for fifty years or more as at 12 March each year. Any individual may nominate a person for the award.

Criteria - Group

The award is open to those groups, businesses, clubs, societies, organisations, associations and teams who have been present in the ACT for fifty years or more as at 12 March each year. Nominations should be made by the owner, President, Chief Executive, Director, spokesperson or otherwise appropriate person in charge of the group. Individuals wishing to nominate a group are encouraged to contact the group to propose a nomination be made.
