Cyber security capabilities

CYBERSECURITY EDUCATION at the ANU is informed by research and policy engagement across the humanities and social sciences, science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Delivered in world class laboratory facilities by domestic and international experts, and in partnership with key security agencies, the ANU offers single, double and research undergraduate and postgraduate programs, executive education and professional development courses of foundation and targeted relevance to cyber security education.

Space sector capabilities

The ANU Advanced Instrumentation and Technology Centre (AITC) at Mount Stromlo is a national facility supporting the design, integration, and testing of innovative instruments. The AITC has demonstrated expertise in the design and construction of high-performance optical, infrared, ultraviolet, and hyperspectral instruments. Using the AITC facilities, and the latest adaptive optic systems, detectors, imagers, lasers, cryogenics, and control systems, the AITC is developing instruments with low noise, high readout rates, and maximum information capture. These instruments are being used at some of the world’s leading astronomical observatories, and to improve the performance of laser ranging telescopes and space debris tracking systems. The AITC seeks to expand its industry partnerships to apply its expertise and facilities to the development, construction and testing of instruments for spatial and geo-intelligence applications using small satellites, UAVs and high altitude balloons.
