Karen Schilling is a highly capable Executive Manager and business owner. Ms Schilling served in the Airforce as a logistics officer and has established two successful local businesses Sigma Bravo (a defence aerospace IT small-medium enterprise) and Bonafide Software, a software exporting company. She is a professional project manager, business analyst and logistician with over 20 years’ experience consulting within government and commercial organisations. Her expertise stems from RAAF logistic origins and a broad range of consulting and business analysis activities.
Within Sigma Bravo, Ms Schilling manages business operations inclusive of ISO 9001 and Defence Security requirements as well as all aspects of corporate operations (finance, HR, admin and contracts) for a company of over 60 personnel. A key focus of her business effort has been the growth of Sigma Bravo, resulting in a successful acquisition by multinational KBR Inc in 2017.
Ms Schilling is active in the Canberra business start-up community within the ACT, volunteering as a CollabIT ACT committee member and participating in a range of activities with Entry 29 and the Canberra Innovation Network (CBRIN). Ms Schilling is passionate about creating positive relationships between Defence and industry.
