Light Rail Business Link Program

The Light Rail Business Link Program is a collaboration between the Territory and the Canberra Business Chamber. This collaboration seeks to maximise the benefits of the Light Rail project for the city, the economy and the community.

The objectives of the program are to:

  • improve industry engagement and strengthen local business capacity to participate in major infrastructure projects, through research, information provision, referral, training and support
  • improve business engagement along the light rail corridor, with reduced impact of the build process and maximised participation in opportunities presented by the project, through targeted engagement and reference groups
  • explore and identify new opportunities and business models through business forums and support new initiatives
  • deliver marketing and communications activities related to the program.

Party at the Shops Program

The Party at the Shops Program was introduced in 2013 as a part of the Centenary of Canberra celebrations. As a community engagement project, it aims to provide closer links between communities, small business and government. The success and popularity of the project during 2013 has seen it extended in 2015 to a year-long program. Some events were held in the previous reporting period.

In return for the sponsorship of the program, the Capital Metro Agency was included in promotional materials and allowed to participate in each event. This enabled the Capital Metro Agency to engage with local communities on a regular basis.
