The Preschool Matters Grants Program provides a maximum of $500 per annum to 20 ACT children’s services to support initiatives that strengthen parental engagement with children’s learning and develop collaborative partnerships with families and communities.

A total of 60 preschool services have received grants of $500 in the 2013-14, 2014–15 and 2015–16 grants rounds. The 2016–17 grants round is the fourth and final round of the grants program.
$10,000 is allocated in each grant round.
A total of $40,000 is committed over the life of the program.
ACT Principals Association Incorporated Principals as Literacy Leaders in Schools (PALLs#2) ACT 2015
The Principals as Literacy Leaders (PALLs) program is designed to:
  • develop the capabilities of primary and secondary school principals as ‘effective literacy leaders’
  • examine school and system data for the purpose of evaluating performance and developing plans and strategies for improvement and sustainability of high levels of literacy achievement
  • lead the design and implementation of literacy improvement in their schools; and
  • develop capabilities in both literacy and in leadership.
