GovHack is an open data hackathon, run annually by volunteers. The ACT Government was the premier sponsor of ACT GovHack 2018 and set ten challenges for the local competition.

Chief Digital Officer, Bettina Konti, handed out prizes at the local awards night.

Canberra was well represented amongst the winners, with a total of ten local teams, covering 12 different projects, receiving national recognition.

ACT Government was awarded runner up to Queensland in the Best State/Territory Government Participation category.

Australian Council of Social Service (ACOSS)

ACOSS will hold their annual national conference at the National Convention Centre in Canberra on 26-27 November 2019. The conference is expected to attract several hundred delegates from the community, public, private and charitable not for profit sectors, as well as political leaders, academics, researchers, unions, campaigners and communicators.

The Chief Minister has announced that the ACT will have a Wellbeing Framework to measure the ACT’s progress, for launch on Canberra Day 2020. The intention is that the Framework will monitor a wide set of indicators reflecting the diversity of the ACT and our community.

The conference presents an opportunity for the Chief Minister to discuss the development of the Wellbeing Framework work with key community sector stakeholders.
