Question: Why don’t the Woden and Gungahlin Shopfronts take cash?

Outcome: The customer was able to provide some feedback that at times staff are not advising all available options to customers who are unaware of electronic transaction only at Woden and Gungahlin.  Feedback will be used to inform staff and provide better service.

Question: There is no where to walk safely when there is a garden that goes all the way to the curb.

Outcome: The constituent was contacted by TCCS to discuss their concerns surrounding accessibility on nature strips. The caller was advised that City Rangers would inspect the particular address of concern to rectify any issues.

Issue: Why will the Gundaroo Drive Duplication between Gungahlin Drive and Mirrabei Drive take 28 months to complete, rather that the original 16months?

Response: TCCS contacted the constituent to discuss and explain the delays on Gundaroo Drive. The constituent expressed their concern with the construction duration, but was happy with the response provided by TCCS.

Issue: It looks like there will be no room for tree replanting on Nullabourne Avenue (where the light rail is going)

Response: TCCS contacted the caller and discussed the tree replating along the Northbourne Avenue. A further phone conversation will be held with the caller to discuss this matter further.

Issue: The back of Florey Oval needs to trees cleaned up. There is also limited lighting (footpath between John Cleland Crescent and Mellor Circuit).

Response: Some trees require minor pruning, while some smaller trees require removal, as they are being used for undesirable behaviour. These works have now been programmed for action. TCCS also spoke with the caller about the limitied lighting along the footpath and have advised that the request for additional lighting has been assessed and will be considered for inclusion in a future upgrade program. The caller was appreciative of the feedback.

Issue: Is Albert Hall under the National Trust? I am concerned as I don’t want it to go the same way as the old Manuka Theatre.

Response: The caller was advised that Albert Hall is on the ACT Heritage Register and that it is owned and operated by the ACT Government and that it would have to be a very extreme circumstance that it would be allowed to be demolished.
