Canberrans should take note of service changes for bin collection, buses and Access Canberra service centres opening hours over the Christmas and New Year period.
Health services will not be affected, with public hospitals and walk-in centres continuing as normal over the festive season to provide essential health care to those who need it.
Waste and recycling collection which would be scheduled for Christmas Day will be brought forward to Saturday 22 December 2018 so Canberrans are urged to confirm their scheduling ahead so as not to miss their collection day.
Access Canberra Service and Specialised Centres will have modified hours on 24 December 2018 and all Centres will be closed from 25 December 2018 and will reopen on 2 January 2019. The 13 22 81 phone line will be closed on the designated public holidays.
Canberrans can still get on top of their life admin over the break though, with more than 330+ services and transactions still available online with Access Canberra.
During the holiday period Canberrans can renew their car registration, driver licence as well as pay bills and fines and other transactions online with Access Canberra at www.act.gov.au/AccessCBR.

There is a special service on Christmas Day and travel will be FREE on Tuesday 25 December 2018. Public holiday services will run to a Sunday timetable. |
