Need support from Access Canberra? Call us or go online

Released 06/04/2020

From today, Canberrans won’t need to visit an Access Canberra Service Centre to complete transactions.

From Monday 6 April 2020 all Access Canberra services, except new ACT driver licence applications, are available online and over the phone, reducing the need for Canberrans to visit a Service Centre.

A dedicated quiet period has also been established between 9am and 11am, to support vulnerable Canberrans and those with English as a second language, who may not have access to online services or who need assistance to do so.

All Access Canberra Service Centres in Woden, Tuggeranong, Belconnen and Gungahlin will be open from 9am-4pm weekdays.

Access Canberra Executive Branch Manager, Engagement and COVID-19 Response, Emily Springett said customers can complete all their transactions on the Access Canberra website or by calling us on 13 22 81.

“Access Canberra has revised its service delivery model in response to COVID-19 to make it as easy as possible for Canberrans to access our services,” Ms Springett said.

“Unless you are applying for a brand-new ACT driver licence, you can do everything over the phone. We have even set up a number plate delivery service and will deliver the new plates to your home.”

Like the rest of our community, Access Canberra recognised the need to adapt to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“This change to our service delivery model means we can continue to provide great customer service, while supporting the health and safety of our teams and our community,” she said.

“Our message to the Canberra community is please go online to complete your transaction or call us on 13 22 81 for assistance. If you still need to visit a Service Centre, please call this number and arrange a time to visit.”

You can now complete more than 450 services and transactions online with Access Canberra at act.gov.au/accessCBR from the comfort of your home.
