A series of temporary road closures are planned for sections of London Circuit in the City over the next few weeks to allow for the construction of a new sewer main associated with a nearby private development. The works are planned to take place over two weekends in November 2018.

Location and timing of closures

A closure of London Circuit southbound from Akuna Street to Constitution Avenue is planned from
8 pm Thursday 1 November to 6 am Monday 5 November 2018. Nangari Street will be closed at the Customs House car park entry while these works are being undertaken.

A closure of London Circuit northbound from Constitution Avenue to Akuna Street is planned from
10 am Friday 9 November to 6 am Monday 12 November 2018. There will be excavation works in Nangari Street which will require a partial closure of Nangari Street including on street parking bays between Rabaul Lane and London Circuit.

Effects on traffic and detours

  • Detours will be in place along Akuna Street, Bunda Street and Allara Street to Constitution Avenue during the closures from 8 pm Thursday 1 November to 6 am Monday 5 November 2018.
  • Detours will be in place along Allara Street, Bunda Street and Akuna Street to London Circuit during the closures from 10 am Friday 9 November to 6 am Monday 12 November 2018.
  • Delays are expected.
  • Motorists and road users are advised to seek an alternate route where possible.

Traffic controllers as well as warning signs will be in place to alert people to the road closures and detours in place.
