Join us for morning tea with bestselling author Fiona McIntosh

Released 20/11/2017

Canberrans are invited to morning tea at the Civic Library with one of Australia’s favourite storytellers, Fiona McIntosh, to discuss her most recent novel, on Thursday 23 November from 10.30 am to 11.30 am.

Fiona McIntosh is well known for her historical romantic adventures and her most recent release, The Tea Gardens, is born from the same genre that has made her an international bestselling author.

Released in late October 2017, The Tea Gardens is based in Calcutta (now Kolkata), India. It follows Dr Isla Fenwick who, on the back of a promise made to her late mother, travels to Calcutta to set up a new midwifery clinic before she settles into life as a married woman.

“We are thrilled to welcome Fiona McIntosh to Canberra as part of her 2017 National Tour for The Tea Gardens. Ms McIntosh is one of Australia’s most well-known storytellers and her novels are sold worldwide in a number of translations,” Director of Libraries ACT, Vanessa Little said.

The Tea Gardens takes the reader on a journey from the seaside suburb of Brighton in England to the

third-world conditions of India’s Kolkata and the stunning Himalayan mountains. It is a story of heroism, heartache and healing and will have readers committed from the first page.

“For those who haven’t yet had an opportunity to get their hands on a copy, books will be available for purchase on the day and Ms McIntosh will be available for signings,” Ms Little said.

Tickets are free, bookings are essential, limited places left. For more information, visit www.library.act.gov.au or call 6205 9000.
