Cotter Road duplication road resurfacing continues

Released 02/03/2018

Motorists are advised that Cotter Road will be reduced to one lane eastbound from Monday 5 March 2018 so work to resurface the road can be completed.

One lane of Cotter Road between the Equestrian club and Yarralumla Creek (about 300 metres) will be closed to traffic after the morning peak period on Monday 5 March and will reopen for the morning peak period on Wednesday 7 March 2018.

“One eastbound lane will remain open to traffic, while the other lane is closed for approximately 300 metres so important asphalting works can be completed,” said Ben McHugh, Director of Capital Works and Development Support, Transport Canberra and City Services.

“The ACT Government apologises for the inconvenience and thanks everyone for their patience whilst this important work takes place.”

The duplication of Cotter Road between McCulloch Street and Streeton Drive remains on track to be completed in April 2018 (weather permitting). Once complete, this upgrade will significantly increase traffic capacity and safety for drivers and other road users.

Traffic controllers as well as warning signs will alert people to the changed traffic arrangements. Drivers are asked to be mindful of the changed traffic arrangements and adhere to the work zone speed limits.
