Temporary road closures for Cancer Convoy 2018

A number of road closures will be in place in Beard, Jerrabomberra and Fyshwick this Sunday 8 April 2018 for this year’s Cancer Convoy. The closures will be in place for several hours.

Effects on traffic:

  • Delays can be expected around the closures.
  • Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route.
  • Traffic marshals will be on site to manage the flow of traffic.

Location of and timing of closures:

There will be rolling closures at the following intersections as the convoy passes through:

  • Tom Price Street and Canberra Avenue
  • Hindmarsh Drive and Monaro Highway
  • Morshead Drive and Monaro Highway
  • Gungahlin Drive and Sandford Street.

Traffic lights at the above intersections will flash orange and be managed by traffic marshals.

The following closures will be in place from 6 am to 12 noon:

  • Norse Road between Uriarra Road and the Canberra Avenue off ramp
  • Copper Crescent at the intersection with Norse Road.

The following closures will be in place from 10 am to 12.30 pm:

  • Hindmarsh Drive eastbound between Jerrabomberra Avenue and the Monaro Highway
  • Newcastle Street southbound at Canberra Avenue
  • there will be no right turns off the Monaro Highway onto Hindmarsh Drive.

Delays are also expected on Flemington Road between Sandford Street and the Federal Highway and at the intersection of Gungahlin Drive and Sandford Street as the Convoy passes through.
