Government welcomes new renewal authority CEO

Released 21/08/2017

I am delighted Malcolm Snow has been appointed to head the new City Renewal Authority.

Mr Snow is an award-winning urban planner, who has the skills to make the city a place people want to go – through excellent design, welcoming public spaces and great events.

Malcolm has proven experience in successfully leading renewal projects in other Australian cities, including Brisbane’s South Bank, which he will bring to Canberra’s renewal precinct. He’s held senior urban planning and renewal roles in Asia and the UK, bringing a valuable international perspective to the City Renewal Authority.

We want the city renewal precinct to be a place that is worthy of a national capital, so Mr Snow’s experience as chief executive of the National Capital Authority will be extremely useful.

My thanks to interim CEO Gary Rake for getting the authority off to a great start.
