Congratulations to Canberra Gold Award recipients

Released 14/03/2018

Hughes Primary, Alfred Deakin High, Canberra Youth Orchestra, Girl Guides ACT, Immanuel Woden Valley Lutheran Church and the Canberra Valley Lions Club today joined the distinguished group of Canberra Gold award recipients who have served our community for 50 years or more.

Canberra is a progressive and growing city, rich in culture and community spirit. The Chief Minister’s Gold Awards are a way for us to thank individuals and groups who have lived or been established in the ACT for 50 years or more, each contributing to making Canberra a great place to live, work and play.

It is inspiring to see the diverse range of recipients—whether they were born here or moved from afar, they have made Canberra their home and helped to shape the community that we live in today.

Since 2005, over 4,400 groups and individuals have been recognised for their commitment to Canberra and the ACT.

Congratulations to all 140 individuals and eight groups who were presented with Chief Minister’s Canberra Gold Awards this morning.

Nominations for the awards are open year round at www.act.gov.au/cbrgold
