Grants promoting community participation and social inclusion

Applications are now open for the 2019-20 Participation (Multicultural) Grants Program. A total of $179,000 in funding will be available to highlight and promote community participation and cohesion, cultural diversity and social inclusion in the ACT.

Applications must demonstrate an active focus on projects, activities or initiatives that contribute to one or more of the following:

  • To strengthen and promote community inclusion;
  • To promote and share the value of Canberra’s cultural diversity;
  • To celebrate and mark significant cultural days, celebrations and observances; and
  • To enable and facilitate access to services, programs and information in culturally appropriate ways.

“In Canberra we celebrate our multicultural community throughout the year and these grants are designed to put our diverse and inclusive city on show”, Minister Steel said.

“I encourage the multicultural community to put forward their ideas for funding and to showcase their culture that adds so much to making Canberra a thriving city.”
