Beat the traffic – take the free bus to the test
With a crowd expected to exceed 25,000, those going to the historic Anzac Test Match at Canberra Stadium on Friday night are encouraged to catch the free shuttle buses and avoid the stress of battling the traffic and finding a place to park.
In order to cater for the larger than usual crowd, ACTION will operate shuttle services from the City, Tuggeranong, Woden, Gungahlin and Belconnen interchanges.
Services will commence from Tuggeranong at 5.30, Woden 5.47, City and Belconnen at 6 and Gungahlin at 6.15.
Full details of all shuttle services are available on the ACTION website and return buses to all major bus stations will commence 20 minutes after the game.
Should patrons decide to drive, they're advised to plan to get to the ground early and enjoy the pre-game build up with gates opening at 6.00.
It has been many years since there has been a sell-out crowd at Canberra Stadium and Canberrans are used to just turning up a few minutes before game time and getting straight in.
Leaving it to the last minute will almost certainly mean that you will miss the 7.45 kick off of this historic match, so plan ahead and avoid that disappointment.
Those planning to drive should also be aware that parking restrictions will be enforced and those parking illegally will be fined.
Patrons are also reminded that Bruce is a residential area and those attending are requested to be respectful of those living in the area by limiting the level of noise.
For full details on the shuttle services go to the ACTION buses website.
