Bring stories to life at the 2023 Canberra and Region Heritage Festival

Released 10/11/2022

Individuals and organisations based in the ACT and surrounding region are invited to register their events for the 2023 Canberra and Region Heritage Festival.

Celebrating its 40th year, the 2023 festival theme is Sharing Stories. Awakening a sense of place and belonging, the Festival will create opportunities for diverse voices to share stories and build connections about our cultural, natural and historic heritage.

This year's Festival included 177 diverse events with thousands of attendees. To ensure the 2023 Festival is bigger and better as we celebrate its 40th year, we are encouraging new individuals and organisations across the region to register to participate.

2022 saw a huge increase in First Nations events showcasing unique cultural stories and traditions, including several Ngunnawal language sessions. We expect and encourage a big return on these events in 2023.

The Festival will run from 11 to 30 April 2023, including the return of a dedicated Kids Week from 17 to 22 April.

Hosting an event is a great way to engage with the community and help celebrate the rich and enduring heritage in our region.

Information on registering an event can be found at the Canberra and Region Heritage Festival website. Take a look at the

Registration Kit and then head to the smart form to enter all of your event details. Registrations are due by 30 January 2023.
