Healthier Work Mentoring Lunch to Thank Workplace Champions

Released 22/04/2015

Minister for Workplace Safety and Industrial Relations, Mick Gentleman, today attended a Healthier Work mentoring lunch to thank and support Workplace Champions who are creating healthier work environments.

Minister Gentleman praised Workplace Champions for their efforts in creating healthier and happier workplaces and welcomed those who are beginning the journey of becoming a Workplace Champion.
“I was interested in speaking with some of the Workplace Champions and hearing how the health and wellbeing programs in their respective workplaces were being progressed,” Minister Gentleman said.

“Workplace Champions play a key role in promoting the healthier work message in their respective workplaces and sustaining the momentum of a healthier workplace.”

“The mentoring lunch provided Workplace Champions with a forum to network and share their ideas and experiences of what worked well and what other opportunities they may wish to explore in making their workplaces healthier.”

A spokesperson from Nutrition Australia also discussed many of the healthy food choices that workplaces can avail of themselves.

“Introducing health and wellbeing programs in workplaces does not have to be overwhelming – there are many resources and considerable information is available,” Minister Gentleman concluded.
