After six and a half years at the helm of the ACT Emergency Services Agency (ESA), Commissioner Dom Lane is set to commence the next chapter of his career as the Chief Executive of the South Australian Fire and Emergency Services Commission.
During his time with the ESA, Dom Lane has done an outstanding job equipping our emergency services for current and future challenges.
He has led our emergency services through a process of organisational and cultural change. His dedication has resulted in a high performing, community focussed organisation that delivers high quality services to the ACT.
Under Dom’s leadership, the ESA has continued to be one of the highest performing emergency services agencies in the nation year-on-year, consistently delivering the fastest ambulance and fire response times.
The great work Dom has done for the ACT Government and the ACT community resulted in an approach from the South Australian Government.
After six and a half years of protecting the people of Canberra, Dom considers it’s time for a new challenge. I’ve no doubt Dom will be a tremendous asset for the people of South Australia, as he has been for the ACT.
Perhaps the greatest measure of a leader is leaving their organisation better than when they arrived. Dom has achieved this and leaves the ESA in a very strong position for future growth.
We sincerely thank him for his contribution to the ACT and for leadership as Commissioner. I, along with the ACT Government, wish Dom a successful future as he progresses his career.
An acting Commissioner will be appointed until a recruitment process takes place to ensure continuity and aid the transition of a new permanent Commissioner.
