Help shape the future of water management

Released 30/07/2019

ACT and Region Catchment Management Coordination Group is looking for two enthusiastic people to help shape the future of water catchments in the ACT.

The positions of "Chair and "Community Representative" on the Coordination Group will work with community groups, industry stakeholders and neighboring governments to improve and protect our vital water catchment areas across the region.

The ACT has the freshest and cleanest drinking water in the country. This is largely due to how well we manage, maintain, preserve and protect our water catchments.

The Chair will lead meetings of the Coordination Group and act as a representative in stakeholder matters on all things water catchment management and water policy.

The role of Community Representative will be required to attend Coordination Group meetings and contribute to developing a discussion on how to best manage the ACT and region"s water resources.

The Coordination Group is made up of representatives from the Commonwealth, National Capital Authority, NSW and ACT Governments, Queanbeyan-Palerang, Yass Valley and Snowy-Monaro Councils and was established as an initiative under the Water Resources Act 2007.

Applicants with expertise in community engagement, land and water management, corporate governance and public administration and encouraged to apply for both roles which will commence in late 2019.

I encourage anyone who is interested to submit an expression of interest to: catchment.coordination@act.gov.au.
Visit www.diversityregister.act.gov.au for further information.

Applications close Friday 23 August 2019.
