In a truly local celebration, enjoy local musicians, street food and more as Canberra celebrates its birthday on Monday 11 March at Stage 88, Commonwealth Park. From 2pm to 7pm the park will host a jam-packed program of activities and music that the whole family can enjoy.
As part of the Enlighten Festival, Canberra Day at Stage 88 celebrates everything CBR with a line-up of local musicians taking the stage. Kicking off from 2pm, Canberrans will enjoy the sounds of local musicians including the CBR Big Band, H-Cee Family, The Robert Grey Duo, Kirrah and headline act Citizen Kay.
Bring a picnic or grab a bite from one of the many local food stalls including Fricken, Bare Bone, Cannoli Brothers, BentSpoke Brewing and more. Amusement rides, including a giant slide and jumping castle will entertain the littlest family members.
ACT Fire and Rescue will also be joining in the birthday celebrations, bringing along one of their fire trucks and the Australian Navy will be providing a naval display for everyone to enjoy.
March brings a diverse line-up of free community events to Canberrans with the ninth annual Enlighten Festival. With an event scheduled each day over the Canberra Day long weekend, there are so many opportunities for Canberra locals to join in the activities.
