Dance week celebrations kicked off in the ACT today and the Government is encouraging Canberrans to take advantage of the performances and classes on offer throughout the week.
Minister for the Arts and Cultural Events Gordon Ramsay today launched Dance Week, presented by Ausdance ACT, as part of International Dance Day celebrations.
“Dance Week is a spectacular celebration of all forms of dance by professional, community and social dancers of all ages,” Minister Ramsay said.
“This year is particularly significant with several anniversaries across the sector.”
- Mirramu Creative Arts Centre is celebrating their 30 year anniversary
- Dance on the Edge by the Belconnen Arts Centre is celebrating their 10th year of production
- The Sydney Dance Company will also be sharing their 50th anniversary with the ACT through a performance at the Canberra Theatre.
“The ACT Government proudly supports Canberra’s arts organisations, including Ausdance ACT,” Minister Ramsay said.
