ACT Health Director-General Dr Peggy Brown today congratulated the winner of the 2012 Allied Health Professional of the Year.
The Director-General made the announcement at ACT Health's Awards for Allied Health Excellence held in conjunction with the 6thAllied Health Symposium at the ANU Commons in Acton.
"I would like to congratulate the winner of this year's Allied Health Professional of the Year, Ms Jessica Parker, who is the Pharmacy Preceptor for Pharmacy Services across the Canberra Hospital and Health Services," Dr Brown said.
"Jessica's nomination reflects that she is an inspiring and dedicated leader in the area of pharmacy education, training and quality improvement and committed to the ACT Health's core values of care, collaboration, excellence and integrity.
Ms Parker also received the Award for Allied Health Education Excellence.
The Director-General congratulated all the Award nominees and recipients in the Allied Health Excellence Awards, and paid tribute to their key role in delivering quality service and patient care.
"Today's Allied Health Symposium provides a great opportunity to bring together and recognise our diverse allied health workforce.
Through the Awards for Excellence, we are able to highlight the depth of talent and commitment shown by our workforce in a number of areas," Dr Brown said.
Other award winners were Annie Proctor-Award for Allied Health Assistant Excellence, Annette Carroll-Award for Allied Health Clinical Excellence and Kyril Belle, Award for Allied Health Management and Leadership Excellence.
