Minister for Higher Education, Training and Research, Meegan Fitzharris, today congratulated Ms Leanne Cover on her appointment as the new CIT Chief Executive Officer.
“I’m delighted to welcome Ms Leanne Cover to the role of Chief Executive Officer at CIT, an important role as CIT continues to grow as a premier provider of vocational education and training.
“Ms Cover brings a wealth of experience to the role. She has an extensive background in education and training and has been a leader in the service delivery of education and training in Canberra.
“With a new CIT strategic plan in its development stage Ms Cover will work with the CIT Board to set CIT’s future direction and manage performance.
“CIT has a bright future ahead, and I’m excited to continue to help build CIT into a hub of learning and enterprise in Canberra.
“The new $10.7 million CIT campus to be established in Tuggeranong will be a huge boost for the region and ensure more Canberrans are training for the jobs of the future.
“CIT Tuggeranong will deliver skills training in areas including health, business, legal, IT, creative industries and adult community education programs and is an important component of the ACT Government’s $110 million commitment to provide vocational education and skills opportunities for all Canberrans.
“The ACT Government is committed to ensuring Canberra’s future workforce is equipped with the skills they need for the jobs of the future, and CIT is playing a major role in this,” said Minister Fitzharris.
