Calvary Public Hospital and Clare Holland House have joined Canberra Hospital and other ACT Community Health Centres in providing free public Wi-Fi for patients and visitors.
Minister for Health and Wellbeing Meegan Fitzharris said expanding ACT Health’s free Wi-Fi service to Calvary Public Hospital and Clare Holland House will ensure that patient and consumer services are consistent across all public health facilities in the ACT.
“The ACT Government has been investing in free public Wi-Fi across the city, and it’s great that the service is now available at Calvary Public Hospital and Clare Holland House,” Minister Fitzharris said.
“These are free services that are already available at Canberra Hospital and across other community based public health facilities and will now make a huge difference for patients and visitors.
“Since mid-September, Health free Wi-Fi has been trialed across the two facilities to assess reliability and performance.
“As part of the trial, we have already received positive feedback from patients, who can now check their emails, browse the internet and stream music and videos on their Wi-Fi devices.
“Providing these types of digital services for health consumers when they are in our public health facilities links with the Digital Canberra strategy that is helping to stimulate the digital economy across Canberra.
“Providing free public Wi-Fi to health consumers is all part of delivering the best possible healthcare experience for Canberrans and their families and carers – where and when they need it,” Minister Fitzharris said.
