Super garments to bring smiles to our youngest patients

Released 30/11/2018

A new team of superheroes have taken up residence at the Centenary Hospital for Women’s and Children, helping to brighten the recovery of paediatric patients.

Children undergoing treatment at Centenary Hospital will be provided with new medical garments designed to resemble superhero costumes, thanks to a donation of SuperTees.

SuperTees are designed to easily accommodate X-rays, MRIs, temperature checks, IV lines and monitoring cables.

Minister for Health and Wellbeing Meegan Fitzharris said the new garments would boost the morale of children who were receiving treatment at Centenary.

“These garments will help make hospital stays a little enjoyable for children,” Minister Fitzharris said.

“They are not only eye catching, they are designed specifically to ensure medical procedures, such as X-rays and MRIs, can be undertaken as easily as possible,” Minister Fitzharris said.

“I have no doubt these SuperTees will bring plenty of fun and laughter to our hospital wards and I thank Jason and Yusuf from SuperTees for their donation.

“Our Paediatrics service provides holistic, evidence-based quality care and advocacy for all children, adolescents - and now superheroes - in the ACT and surrounding areas with acute and chronic health needs.”

This donation is thanks to the generous support of the Bruce Guardian Early Childhood Learning Centre, with 50 SuperTees donated today to the Centenary Hospital for Women and Children.

Jason and Yusef designed the SuperTees following a personal experience, wanting to empower little heroes everywhere who are fighting their own battles with illness, giving them the courage to win those battles.
