Nominations are now open for the 2020 Young Canberra Citizen of the Year Awards, celebrating young people aged 12 to 25 years in Canberra.
The Awards recognise individuals and groups who have made a significant contribution through personal endeavours or who are actively involved in the ACT community.
Minister for Children, Youth and Families, Rachel Stephen-Smith said that the Awards provide a platform to recognise inspirational and dedicated young people in our city.
“I am constantly impressed by the drive and imagination of the young people I meet. It is important to acknowledge the great work of younger Canberrans and recognise the role they play in creating a fairer and more inclusive Canberra.
“If you know a young person or group making a real difference in our community, get involved and nominate them for Young Canberra Citizen of the Year,” Minister Stephen-Smith said.
This year, nominations can be made in seven categories:
- Young Canberra Citizen of the Year Award
- Young Achiever Award
- Individual Community Service Award
- Environmental and Sustainability Award
