CBR's biggest business sustainability expo

Registrations are now open for the Actsmart Business Expo, full of smart ideas to help businesses save money while helping to build a sustainable, liveable and climate-wise Canberra, Minister for Climate Change and Sustainability, Shane Rattenbury said today.

Now in its ninth year, the Expo will feature over 40 exhibitors demonstrating green technologies, a variety of masterclasses as well as inspirational speakers and networking opportunities.

Key activities include:

  • OzHarvest's celebrity chef cook off - Pialligo Estate's head chef Darren Perryman and The Boat House's head chef John Leverink turn rescued food into fine dining
  • Keynote speakers including Laura Wells, fashion model and climate activist; AHA award winner Little National Hotel's Maddie Groom, Mirvac Group's Kim Host and Irini Daglis
  • Masterclasses covering topics such as solar storage, sustainable transport and how businesses can improve their sustainability.
  • Canberra Business Chamber VIP Lunch (ticketed event) – Hosted by local comedian

Christ Ryan, she will guide robust discussion to the topic 'Climate Emergency: Is there a get out of jail free card?'

"The Expo will bring together industry leaders to share their expertise about how businesses can easily adopt the latest technologies in waste, water and energy and is open to both business and the public," Minister for Climate Change and Sustainability Shane Rattenbury said today.

"A strong feature of the Expo will be the showcase of eco-friendly, low emission vehicles including electric and hydrogen-fuelled cars, I encourage you to explore this hands-on display.

"The 2019 Expo is set to be a game-changer with an exciting line-up of speakers and mainstage activities. I encourage everyone to come along."

The expo is being held on Thursday 12 September from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Southern Cross Club in Woden. Registrations are now open. Entry is free.
