The Budget Committee of Cabinet agreed to the implementation of an Initiatives Review Committee trial as part of the 2019-20 Budget process. Under the requirements of the ACT Government Cabinet Handbook, and given the technical nature of this item, no Triple Bottom Line Assessment was required.

Government Response to the Independent Expert Review into Dog Management in the ACT

Cabinet agreed to release the Independent Expert Review into Dog Management in the ACT, Government Response, Accountability Commitment and Dog Control Survey.

New public transport network

Cabinet agreed to plans for a new public transport network for Canberra in 2019, and related initiatives. The new network includes 10 Rapid bus and light rail routes providing frequent, direct services between town centres and along key corridors, supported by a range of other bus services, including local services and dedicated school services.

Motor Accident Injuries Bill 2018 – Agreement to Release Exposure Draft of the Bill

Cabinet agreed to the exposure draft of the Motor Accident Injuries Bill 2018 and a guide to the bill being publicly released by the Treasurer, with a motion to be moved in the Legislative Assembly to refer the exposure draft to a Legislative Assembly Standing Committee for further scrutiny and consultation.

The Triple Bottom Line Assessment was considered by Cabinet on 30 July 2018 (18/399/CAB – Compulsory Third-Party Insurance Scheme – implementing the Citizens’ Jury’s chosen model – policy approval) as part of the policy approval.

Sentencing Legislation Amendment Bill 2018

Cabinet agreed the Minister for Justice, Consumer Affairs and Road Safety present the Sentencing Legislation Amendment Bill 2018 in the ACT Legislative Assembly.
