Integrity Commission Bill 2018 – agreement to introduce in the Legislative Assembly and Government Response

Cabinet agreed the Chief Minister present the Integrity Commission Bill 2018 and table the Government Response to the Select Committee on Independent Integrity Commission 2018, in the ACT Legislative Assembly. As members of the Select Committee Inquiry, Minister Steel and Minister Rattenbury absented themselves for this item.

Governance Arrangements for the Progression of Parkes Way Project

Cabinet agreed to amended governance arrangements in respect of potential Parkes Way works, including changes to the Charter and membership for the current Light Rail and Parkes Way Project Board.

Canberra Institute of Technology Governance Amendment Bill 2018

Cabinet agreed the Minister for Vocational Education and Skills present the Canberra Institute of Technology Amendment Bill 2018 in the ACT Legislative Assembly.

Curtin Group Centre Master Plan

Minute number:  18/542/CAB

Cabinet agreed to the release of the Curtin Group Centre Master Plan in conjunction with the Curtin Group Centre Master Plan – Community Engagement Report Stages 2, 3 and 4.

ACT Planning Strategy Refresh 2018 - Final

Minute number:  18/428/CAB

Cabinet agreed to the release of the ACT Planning Strategy Refresh 2018 under section 106 of the Planning and Development Act 2007 by notifiable instrument.

Intergovernmental Agreement on Nationally Consistent Worker Screening for the National Disability Insurance Scheme

Cabinet agreed the Chief Minister sign the Intergovernmental Agreement on Nationally Consistent Worker Screening for the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

Government response to the Standing Committee on Environment and Transport and City Services Inquiry into a proposal for a Mammal Emblem for the ACT

Minute number:  18/673/CAB

Cabinet agreed to the government response to the Inquiry into a proposal for a mammal emblem including that the government agree to adopt a mammal emblem for the ACT, and the Southern Brush-tailed Rock-Wallaby as the mammal emblem for the ACT. Cabinet further agreed to refer one recommendation from the Standing Committee back to the committee for further consultation.  A Triple Bottom Line Assessment was undertaken and it was determined the submission did not impact on any categories.

Report of the review of the Radiation Protection Act 2006

Cabinet agreed the Minister for Health and Wellbeing table the report on the review of the Radiation Protection Act 2006 (the Act) in the ACT Legislative Assembly as required under section 125 of the Act.  Under the requirements of the ACT Government Cabinet Handbook, no Triple Bottom Line Assessment was required for this item.

Electoral Amendment Bill 2018

Cabinet agreed the Attorney-General present the Electoral Amendment Bill 2018 in the ACT Legislative Assembly. The Bill seeks to implement a ban on political donations from property developers as well as other changes that are aimed at strengthening the ACT electoral funding and administrative system.

Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Amendment Bill 2018

Cabinet agreed the Minister for Justice, Consumer Affairs and Road Safety present the Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Amendment Bill 2018 in the ACT Legislative Assembly. The Bill allows a birth parent to choose whether to register a stillborn child where the child showed no sign of a heartbeat within less than 20 weeks from its conception but was born during or after 20 weeks. The Triple Bottom line assessment was considered by Cabinet on 27 September 2018 (18/371 Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Amendment Bill 2018 – policy approval) as part of the policy approval.

Introduction of the Fuels Rationing Bill 2018

Cabinet agreed the Minister for Climate Change and Sustainability present the Fuels Rationing Bill 2018 in the ACT Legislative Assembly.  The Triple Bottom Line assessment was considered by Cabinet on 15 May 2018 (18-033 Liquid Fuels Emergency Rationing Legislation Bill 2018 - policy approval) as part of the policy approval.

Retirement Villages Legislation Amendment Bill 2018

Cabinet agreed the Minister for Justice, Consumer Affairs and Road Safety present the Retirement Villages Legislation Amendment Bill 2018 in the ACT Legislative Assembly. The Bill responds to issues raised as a part of the 2015-16 Review of the Retirement Villages Act 2012.  The Triple Bottom line assessment was considered by Cabinet on 19 February 2018 (17-556 Retirement Villages Legislation Amendment Bill 2018 – policy approval) as part of the policy approval.

Response to 31 October 2018 Legislative Assembly Resolution - Mental Health Services

Minute number:  18/688/CAB

Cabinet agreed the Minister for Mental Health make a statement in the ACT Legislative Assembly in response to the 31 October 2018 Legislative Assembly resolution on Mental Health Services. Under the requirements of the ACT Government Cabinet Handbook, no Triple Bottom Line Assessment was required for this item.
