Minister's Annual Statement: Asbestos related works across Canberra

Cabinet (the Government Business Subcommittee) agreed the Minister for Planning and Land Management make a Ministerial Statement in the Legislative Assembly on Asbestos related works across Canberra. Under the requirements of the ACT Government Cabinet Handbook, no Triple Bottom Line Assessment was required for this item.

Civil Law (Wrongs) (Institutional Child Abuse) Amendment Bill 2018

Cabinet (the Government Business Subcommittee) agreed the Attorney-General present the Civil Law (Wrongs) (Institutional Child Abuse) Amendment Bill 2018 to the Legislative Assembly to implement recommendation 94 of the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse - Redress and Civil Litigation Report 2015. The Triple Bottom Line Assessment was considered by Cabinet on 12 June 2018 (17/734/CAB – ACT Government Response to the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse) as part of the policy approval.

Climate Change and Greenhouse Gas Reduction (Principal Target) Amendment Bill 2018 – Agreement to Introduce

Cabinet agreed the Minister for Climate Change and Sustainability present the Climate Change and Greenhouse Gas Reduction (Principal Target) Amendment Bill 2018 to the Legislative Assembly.  The Bill will amend section 6(1) of the Climate Change and Greenhouse Gas Reduction Act 2010 to bring forward the ACT’s principal target date for achieving net zero emissions to 30 June 2045 from 30 June 2050. The Triple Bottom Line Assessment was considered by Cabinet on 1 May 2018 (18/200/CAB – ACT’s Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction interim Targets 2020 to 2050) as part of the policy approval.

ACT Negotiating Position on the National Energy Guarantee

Cabinet agreed to the ACT’s negotiating position on the National Energy Guarantee.

ACTPS Education Directorate Teaching Staff Enterprise Agreement Bargaining Position 2018

Cabinet agreed to the bargaining position in relation to the new enterprise agreement covering ACT public school teaching staff employed by the Education Directorate.  Under the requirements of the ACT Government Cabinet Handbook, no Triple Bottom Line Assessment was required for this item.

ACT Government Submission – Senate Select Committee Inquiry into Charity Fundraising in the 21st Century

Cabinet agreed to the ACT Government’s submission to the Australian Senate Select Committee’s Inquiry into Charity Fundraising in the 21st century.  Under the requirements of the ACT Government Cabinet Handbook, no Triple Bottom Line Assessment was required for this item.

Government Position on Aquis’ Outstanding Issues and Key Elements of the Proposal

Cabinet considered matters related to Aquis and agreed to pursue options for ongoing negotiations with Aquis.  The Triple Bottom line assessment was released with the final decision of Cabinet on 10 December 2018 (18/678 Aquis Unsolicited Bid November 2018).
