Long Service Leave (Portable Schemes) Amendment Bill 2019

Cabinet (Government Business Subcommittee) agreed the Minister for Employment and Workplace Safety introduce the Long Service Leave (Portable Schemes) Amendment Bill 2019 in the Legislative Assembly. The Bill makes amendments which would provide better protections for worker entitlements, remove administrative inconsistencies and provide greater clarity for employers. Statute Law Amendment Bill 2019

Cabinet agreed the Attorney-General introduce the Statute Law Amendment Bill 2019 in the Legislative Assembly, in accordance with the technical amendments program for minor or technical and non-controversial amendments of ACT legislation.
The Bill includes minor and technical amendments to the following legislation: the Cemeteries and Crematoria Act 2003, the Financial Management Act 1996, the Lifetime Care and Support (Catastrophic Injuries) Act 2014, the Motor Accident Injuries Act 2019, the Public Health Act 1997, the Public Sector Workers Compensation Fund Act 2018, the Territory-owned Corporations Act 1990 and the Territory Superannuation Provision Protection Act 2000.
A Triple Bottom Line Assessment was undertaken, and it was determined the submission did not impact on any categories.

Gas Meter Safety Policy – Stage 3

Minute number:  19/170/CAB

Cabinet agree to uphold the current regulation that prohibits the installation of new gas meter sets inside residential buildings, with the exception of a meter room secured into the face of a building and accessible from the external face of the building. Cabinet further agreed to the implementation of an ongoing internal residential meter inspection regime which will inspect existing meters installed within residential buildings.

Government response to Auditor-General Report 6/2019 – ICT Strategic Planning

Cabinet agreed the Chief Minister provide the Legislative Assembly with the Government Response to the Auditor-General’s Report No. 6 of 2019: ICT Strategic Planning. The Government Response agrees to all three recommendations from the Auditor-General’s Report. Release of Draft Digital Strategy for Public Comment

Government Response – ACT Auditor-General's Report No. 5/ 2019: Management of the System-Wide Data Review Implementation Program

Sentencing (Parole Time Credit) Legislation Amendment Bill 2019

Cabinet agreed the Minister for Corrections and Justice Health present the Sentencing (Parole Time Credit) Legislation Amendment Bill 2019 in the Legislative Assembly. The Bill amends the Crimes (Sentence Administration) Act 2005 and the Crimes (Sentencing) Act 2005 to establish a Parole Time Credit regime in the ACT. The Triple Bottom Line Assessment was considered by Cabinet on 11 June 2019 (18/755/CAB Crimes (Sentence Administration) Act 2005: Amendments to introduce Parole Time Credit - Policy approval).
