Motor Accident Injuries Bill 2019 and Government Response to Standing Committee on Justice and Community Safety Report on the Inquiry into Motor Accident Injuries Bill 2018

Cabinet agreed the Treasurer present the Motor Accident Injuries Bill 2018 in the ACT Legislative Assembly. Cabinet also agreed to the tabling of the Government response to the Justice and Community Safety Committee Report on the Inquiry into Motor Accident Injuries Bill 2018 in the ACT Legislative Assembly. The Triple Bottom Line Assessment was considered by Cabinet on 30 July 2018 (18/399/CAB - Compulsory Third Party Insurance Scheme – Implementing the Citizens’ Jury’s Chosen Model – Policy Approval) as part of the policy approval.

Ministerial Statement: Chief Minister’s Mission to Indonesia

Justice and Community Safety Legislation Amendment Bill 2019

Cabinet agreed the Attorney-General present the Justice and Community Safety Legislation Amendment Bill 2019 in the ACT Legislative Assembly. The Bill makes minor and technical amendments to improve legislation primarily administered by the Justice and Community Safety Directorate.

Government position on Crimes (Anti-Consorting) Amendment Bill 2019

Minute number:  19/108/CAB

Cabinet agreed to not support the passage of the Crimes (Anti-Consorting) Bill 2019. Cabinet agreed that the ACT Government is strongly committed to ensuring the safety of the community and will continue to pursue effective measures to target and disrupt criminal gangs. A Triple Bottom Line Assessment was undertaken and it was determined the submission did not impact on any categories.

Approval of the Molonglo River Reserve – final draft Reserve Management Plan

Cabinet agreed to support submission of the final draft Molonglo River Reserve – Reserve Management Plan to the Minister for the Environment and Heritage for approval in accordance with the Nature Conservation Act 2014 (the Act).
