ACT Government Submission to Parkwood Planning Proposal 2019

Cabinet agreed the ACT Government submission to Yass Valley Council’s Parkwood Planning Proposal. The proposal seeks to rezone land on the ACT-NSW border to progress the urban development of Parkwood.

Disposal of Surplus Territory Properties

Minute number:  18/176/CAB

Cabinet agreed to an indicative list of surplus properties to be disposed of by ACT Property Group.

The Canberra Dog Model

Minute number:  19/092/CAB

Cabinet agreed to publicly release the Canberra Dog Model to improve dog management in the ACT.

Final Government Response to the Commissioner for Sustainability and the Environment’s report – Unfantastic Plastic: Review of the Plastic Bag Ban

Minute number:  19/091/CAB

Cabinet agreed to the release of a final ACT Government Response to the Commissioner for Sustainability and the Environment’s report titled Unfantastic Plastic: Review of the Plastic Bag Ban.

Animal Welfare Bill 2019

Minute number:  18/376/CAB

Cabinet agreed the Minister for City Services present the Animal Welfare Amendment Bill 2019 in the ACT Legislative Assembly.  Amendments will ensure that the ACT has a best-practice, contemporary and effective regulatory system that protects and promotes the welfare of animals, prevents and deters cruelty to animals and responds appropriately to animal welfare abuses.

The Triple Bottom Line Assessment was considered by Cabinet on 20 November 2018 (18/377/CAB – Animal Welfare Bill 2018 – policy approval) as part of the policy approval.

Proposed improvements to the Lease Variation Charge framework

Cabinet agreed to the proposed improvements to the Lease Variation Charge framework. These improvements will be announced as part of the 2019-20 Budget.

University of New South Wales (UNSW) Canberra City Campus proposal – consideration of key matters
