ACT Bushfire and Flood Recovery Plan

Cabinet (Budget Committee of Cabinet) considered the draft ACT Bushfire and Flood Recovery Plan, which outlines key principles, the delivery mechanism and three-year actions required to achieve the environmental, heritage and community objectives outlined in the Rapid Risk Assessment Team Report.

Cabinet agreed to proceed with a Direct Sale of part Block 1 Section 13 Watson to the Academy of Interactive Entertainment to develop enhanced teaching, learning and research facilities focused on interactive entertainment and film vocational courses, and additional higher education course offerings along with associated student accommodation. Cabinet also agreed to parameters that will inform further community consultation on possible future upgrades to community greenspace at Canberra Technology Park to be considered as part of a future budget process.

Sexuality and Gender Identity Conversion Practices Bill 2020

Cabinet agreed the Minister for Social Inclusion and Equality and the Minister for Justice, Consumer Affairs and Road Safety present the Sexuality and Gender Identity Conversion Practices Bill 2020 in the Legislative Assembly. The Bill intends to implement a ban on harmful conversion practices aimed at LGBTQ+ people in the ACT.
