Community Housing Corporation Deferral of Loan Principal Investment

Cabinet (Budget Committee of Cabinet) agreed to defer loan payment arrangements for the Community Housing Corporation.

Strategic re-profiling of the Capital Works program

Minute number:  19/754/BUD

Cabinet (Budget Committee of Cabinet) agreed to set the 2020-21 capital works program at an upper limit of $1 billion to give the community a clear indication of the extent of the Government’s stimulus support for the ACT economy and provide certainty for industry planning.

Cladding Audit Response – Outcome of Assessments and Options

Cabinet (Budget Committee of Cabinet) noted the outcome of detailed assessments undertaken on government-owned sites and the findings of a desktop review undertaken on private buildings in the ACT. Cabinet considered the options for remediation and management of affected government-owned sites and agreed to the strategy for privately-owned buildings in the ACT. Minister Orr and Minister Rattenbury absented themselves from the discussion.

Economic Recovery Package – Screwdriver Ready Fund and minor projects

Cabinet (Budget Committee of Cabinet) agreed to: provide an extension of the Screwdriver Ready Program by six months commencing on 1 July 2020; and the provision of additional funding to support economic recovery in the short-term and to facilitate early planning and design works for medium- to longer-term projects.

Suburban Land Agency Financial Supplementation

Cabinet (Budget Committee of Cabinet) agreed to options for the land development program for the Suburban Land Agency to enable it to remain cashflow positive given the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic period.

Financial Support for the Cultural Facilities Corporation

In response to a loss of own source revenue associated with COVID-19 restrictions, Cabinet (Budget Committee of Cabinet) agreed to the provision of additional financial support for the Cultural Facilities Corporation.

Update on ACT COVID-19 Scenario Planning

Cabinet (Security and Emergency Management Committee of Cabinet) agreed that further work be undertaken on health and non-health strategies to support a whole of government approach to different scenarios over the coming 12+ months, including consideration of any impacts on any relevant domains outlined in the ACT Wellbeing Framework.
A Triple Bottom Line assessment was not required for this submission.  Any Triple Bottom Line assessment will be considered through the development of the individual strategies.

Response to Resolution – Recycling and Waste Reduction
