Reportable Conduct Scheme expansion underway
The ACT Government has committed to expanding the oversight provided by the ACT Reportable Conduct Scheme to religious organisations that provide pastoral care and religious instruction services. It is intended that this commence by 1 July 2018.
The Government welcomes community views on how the Reportable Conduct Scheme should be applied to religious organisations to promote child safety, and whether any further measures, monitoring or oversight are warranted.
This discussion paper is also seeking views about the role of Government and independent oversight in promoting child safety among organisations that work with children; especially commercial and volunteer based organisations.
All interested members of the ACT community are encouraged to read and respond to the Discussion Paper on extending the scope of the Reportable Conduct Scheme. For more information, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note the closing date for submissions has been extended to Friday 16 March 2018.
