Canberra: A Statement of Ambition, 2016
Canberra as a Smart City
The ACT Government is committed to evolving Canberra into a smart and connected digital city, through leading-edge initiatives like the CBRfree WiFi network, one of Australia’s largest free outdoor public WiFi networks, and an integrated smart parking network currently being trialled in one of our boutique shopping districts.
The ACT Government’s smart city program utilises smart partnerships, smart policy and smart technology to ensure Canberra remains the world’s most liveable city.
Smart City Strategy
The ACT Government is developing a Smart City Strategy and we are seeking input from across the community, industry and academic sectors on how we can use technology, digital platforms and real-time data to drive better outcomes for Canberra and our region.
Representatives of peak bodies, industry and academia joined the Smart City team on 10 April 2017 for a forum on the smart city challenges and opportunities for Canberra and the region. View the presentations here.
