Transport Canberra and City Services would like to advise Canberra residents of trading hours and changes to services over the Christmas and New Year period.
Domestic Animal Services (DAS) Shelter:
The following opening hours and closures will be in place at the DAS Shelter from Saturday 24 December 2016 to Monday 2 January 2017 inclusive:

DAS will resume normal services on Tuesday 3 January 2017. Emergency public holiday and after-hours services for dog attacks or injured dogs are available by contacting Access Canberra on 13 22 81.
Libraries ACT:
Libraries ACT branches and the ACT Heritage Library will close at 2pm on Saturday 24 December 2016 and will return to normal opening hours on Tuesday 3 January 2017. The following revised operating hours will be in place during this period:

No items will be marked due from Friday 23 December 2016 and Tuesday 10 January 2017 inclusive. If your books are not overdue or requested by another person, renewals can be made online at www.library.act.gov.au via My Account (log in using your membership number and PIN).
eResources and the library catalogue are available during this period.
Yarralumla Nursery:
The Wholesale Nursery, including the free plant issue scheme, will be closed from 1 pm on Friday 23 December 2016, reopening at 7.30 am on Tuesday 3 January 2017.
Waste management services:
There are no changes to household bin collections over the Christmas and New Year holidays for 2016-17. Scheduled collections will occur on Boxing Day, Monday 26 December 2016.
On Sunday 25 December 2016 all waste facilities will be closed, including all businesses operating within the Resource Management Centres of Hume, Mitchell and West Belconnen.
The recycling drop off centres are open 24 hours, including Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
