Update: further asphalting works on Constitution Avenue

Released 01/01/2018

Asphalting works on the $44.8 million Constitution Avenue project will continue this week, starting tonight Monday 18 July 2016. These works were delayed following several days of inclement weather over the past weeks.

To ensure these works are conducted safely and with minimal inconvenience to road users, temporary overnight road closures will be in place at several intersections from this evening of Monday 17 July to the morning of Wednesday 20 July 2016, weather permitting. The works will take place each evening between
8 pm and 5 am.

Works on the intersection of Constitution Avenue and Allara Street will take place tonight (Monday) and tomorrow (Tuesday) morning. They will require Constitution Avenue to be closed in both directions from Coranderrk Street to London Circuit. Traffic on Allara Street travelling across Constitution Avenue will be managed by traffic controllers.

Constitution Avenue will be closed between Allara Street and Coranderrk Street on Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.

Constitution Avenue will also be closed from the entryway to Jamieson Apartments and the intersection with Anzac Parade on Wednesday evening and Thursday morning.

The Australian Government provided $42 million for the upgrade of Constitution Avenue and an additional $2.8 million in funding has been allocated by the ACT Government to complete the connection of Constitution Avenue to Vernon Circle.

Barriers, warning and diversion signs will be erected on site.
