Motorists are being encouraged to use an alternative route next week as temporary lane closures will be in place on Wentworth Avenue in Kingston, as the important resurfacing works continue.
Weather permitting, the works will be underway between 7 am and 5 pm affecting one southbound lane of Wentworth Avenue on:
- Monday 21 and Tuesday 22 November 2016, from north of Eyre Street to Dawes Street
- Wednesday 23 and Thursday 24 November 2016, from south of Gosse Street to north of Eyre Street
- Friday 25 November 2016, from north of Eyre Street to Dawes Street.
The works are also planned from 7 am until 5 pm along both northbound lanes of Wentworth Avenue from Dawes Street to Gosse on Monday 28 November 2016.
Motorists are reminded to drive to conditions and comply with the reduced speed limit of 40km/h that is in place for their safety and the safety of workers.
In addition, barriers, warning and diversion signs will be erected on site.
Transport Canberra and City Services thanks motorists for their patience as we work hard to deliver these works which will result in a safer surface for road users.
These staged works of the Wentworth Avenue pavement rehabilitation project, funded through the Australian Government’s Roads to Recovery programme, is due to be completed in late November 2016. The next stage (Dawes Street to Cunningham Street) is due for completion in February 2017.
