Following a successful trial with driver licence renewals, Access Canberra has extended its SMS payment reminder services to better assist Canberrans.
In addition to payment reminders for driver licence renewals, reminders will now also be sent for motor vehicle registration renewals, traffic and parking infringements.
Minister for Business and Better Regulation, Tara Cheyne, says the SMS reminders are aimed to support Canberrans.
“Expanding the SMS reminders program is another example of how the ACT Government is continuing to improve services for the community,” Minister Cheyne said.
“The service will help many Canberrans remember important dates and as they continue to lead busy lives.”
SMS reminders will be sent to a driver’s nominated mobile number two days prior to the expiry/due date, with another reminder text sent two days after the expiry/due date if the renewal or payment is still outstanding.
Canberrans can ensure they receive their SMS reminders by confirming or updating their mobile number at act.gov.au/updateyourrego.
