Nominations are now open for the CBR Sport Awards 2023 to acknowledge our exceptional local athletes, teams, coaches, volunteers, and sporting organisations.
Peak sporting organisations and local sporting clubs are encouraged to nominate their highest achievers in community sport and at the elite level who contribute to our city’s proud sporting culture.
The CBR Sport Awards recognise and honour the excellence of our sporting community and the outstanding achievements of all involved. This year’s winners will join the ranks of champions like, Kelsey-Lee Barber (Athletics) last year’s Athlete of the Year Women’s Sport, Michael Matthews (Cycling, Road) 2022 Athlete of the Year Men’s Sport, and 2022 Athlete of the Year Para Sport Samuel Harding (Triathlon).
The CBR Sport Award categories are:
- Athlete of the Year – women’s sport
- Athlete of the Year – men’s sport
- Athlete of the Year – para sport
- Team of the Year
- Rising Star
- ACT Sport Hall of Fame
- ACT Sport Hall of Fame – Associate Member
- Minister for Sport and Recreation’s Award for Inclusion
- Minister for Sport and Recreation’s Award for Innovation
- Minister for Sport and Recreation’s Award for Event Excellence
Nomination for all awards close on 9 October 2023.
The CBR Sport Awards are an opportunity to come together and celebrate our dynamic sport and recreation community from the grassroots to elite levels. The event will be held later this year.
