Gungahlin Tennis Facility one step closer

A development application for Gungahlin Tennis Facility has now been lodged and will soon be open for public feedback.

The new facility, to be located in Amaroo, will include 10 full sized courts, 2 hot shots courts, a hitting wall, LED lighting, female friendly changerooms, parking and a pavilion.

Design development and construction is being undertaken in partnership with Tennis Australia and Tennis ACT, as well as the ACT community.

Pending approval of the DA, the ACT Government will then release a tender to engage a construction contractor to deliver the works.

Minister for Sport and Recreation Yvette Berry said: “Tennis is one of the most popular sports in the Territory. As our city grows, the ACT Government is committed to delivering more sporting facilities to help Canberrans stay active, healthy and engaged in the sports they love.”

“This project was a commitment we took to the last election and I’m excited to see it progressing.”

The community will an opportunity to provide feedback through the DA process.
