Share your thoughts on the future of Haig Park

Released 31/07/2018

Have your say on which actions should be implemented in Haig Park first by sharing your thoughts at a drop-in session this week.

The Haig Park Plan has been created to make the area safer, vibrant, accessible and a healthy place to visit and enjoy.  It sets out actions to realise the community’s vision for Haig Park.

City Renewal Authority Chief Executive Malcolm Snow said this is a great opportunity for those with an interest in the park’s future to share their feedback on the plan.

“We’ve developed the plan based on extensive consultation.  As we enter the implementation phase, we want to continue involving the community in park improvements so that it is a place for all of us,” Mr Snow said.

On Wednesday 1 August, the City Renewal Authority will be at the Turner end of Haig Park, along the Sullivan’s Creek bike path, between Masson and Greenway Streets between 7:45am – 9:15am.

On Sunday 5 August, the City Renewal Authority will be in Haig Park, near Lonsdale St, Braddon between 10am – 1pm.

The City Renewal Authority will be offering a free coffee from Sly Fox Coffee Van or vouchers to local Braddon cafes to thank those who participate in this process.

On Sunday there will also be lawn games and face painting to enjoy in the park for those who come along to share their ideas.

The plan will trial short term actions within the park to better understand what long term improvements can be made.

For those unable to attend a drop-in session, feedback can be submitted online via https://www.yoursay.act.gov.au/haigpark
