Bring your creative ideas to life in the City Centre with a Placemaking Grant
Expressions of interest are now open for the City Renewal Authority’s 2023-2024 Placemaking Grants program. With multiple grants of up to $50,000 on offer, now is the time to pitch your ideas!
We’re looking for creative, innovative, diverse, and inclusive ideas that will drive visitation to the City Centre and Braddon and strengthen the community’s connection to public places.
Expressions of interest close on 22 May 2023. Shortlisted ideas will be notified in June 2023 and invited to make a full application. Successful projects must be delivered between August 2023 and June 2024.
Applicants will be able to submit their ideas through a range of categories including arts, events, marketing, installations and vacant space activation.
We’ve listened to the community’s feedback and made some changes to our process, making it even easier for individuals and organisations to bring their inspiring projects to life. With the view to building capacity within our community, we’ll also be hosting a free workshop with expert guidance in writing grant submissions on Friday 28 April 2023.
Acting Chief Executive Officer of the City Renewal Authority, Craig Gillman, remarked on the Authority’s commitment to supporting projects that create interest, attendance and positively impact the appeal of the City Centre and Braddon.
“We’re thrilled to work with our local community each year to create exciting place experiences and give people even more reasons to spend time in them,” Mr Gillman said.
“We’ve seen some exceptional events and activations in the past and this year is no different. We’re looking for projects that really connect with residents and visitors and demonstrate social, cultural, economic, and environmental benefits for the City Centre and Braddon.”
