Released 09/09/2016
Works to repair Acton tunnel are currently underway, with temporary lane closures to come into effect from Monday 12 September 2016 to allow the final stage of works to be completed.
This stage of work will require temporary lane closures on Parkes Way westbound in the tunnel itself between 7 am and 2.30 pm daily from Monday 12 September 2016 to Friday 30 September 2016.
At least one lane will remain open at any time. Traffic will be allowed to pass through the tunnel heading westbound along Parkes Way, but delays are expected. Motorists and other roads users should consider an alternative route where possible.
Work to safely remove and dispose of the damaged panels in the tunnel is complete. The upcoming temporary lane closures will allow for the installation of new roof panels and warning signs.
This work is necessary to finalise repairs following the damage caused to Acton tunnel in October 2015.
Barriers, warning and diversion signs will be erected to alert people of the closure.
