Transport Workers Union all-driver meeting to take place on Wednesday 19 December 2018

Released 14/12/2018

On Wednesday 19 December, all Transport Canberra bus services will cease between 10am and 2pm to allow for all bus drivers to attend an important meeting to be conducted by the Transport Workers Union. The meeting, which is authorised by the ACT Government, is a necessary step towards finalising a new Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA).

“Limited services will be available between 9.30am - 10am and between 2pm - 2.30pm, as all drivers transition from their on-road shifts to attend the meeting. All services will then return to commence as normal before the peak period from 2.30pm,” Executive Director for Transport Canberra Operations, Judith Sturman said.

The meeting has been scheduled outside of peak travel times to minimise inconvenience to customers. No school services will be affected.

“It is important to note that all Special Needs Transport and the Flexible Bus Service will operate as per usual during this time. We thank the Canberra community for their cooperation and understanding, and we acknowledge the disruption to services this has to allow for this to occur,” said Ms Sturman.

Transport Canberra asks customers to plan ahead during this time to avoid inconvenience, and will continue to ensure the community is kept informed in regards to this disruption.
