Majura Pines and Googong Foreshores closures

Released 21/09/2016

The ACT Government wishes to advise the public that the Majura Pines recreation area, including the mountain bike trails, is closed until Friday 7 October 2016 due to recent inclement weather.

There are a number of fallen or hanging trees in the area. The trails are also saturated so the closure will reduce further damage to the network.

The ACT Government is currently working to clear fallen trees. Staff will be on site in the coming week to assess trees and remove them if required.

London Bridge Road has also been closed at the southern entrance to Googong meaning there is no vehicle access to the southern end of Googong Foreshores.

The downstream picnic area and boat ramp at Googong Foreshores are also closed.

These closures are the result of recent wet weather in the area leading to unsafe road conditions and debris in the dam. The areas will be reopened once it is safe to do so.
